What Kind of Gates and Arm Barriers Does GateGuardX Work With?

GateGuardX is designed for electrically powered gates and barriers only — we do not support manual gates.

We work with the most common gate types used at factories, warehouses, and residential communities, including:

Gate TypeCommon Use Case Description
Sliding GateCommercial/Industrial yards,
logistics sites
Runs on a track;
common in commercial setups
Swing GateResidential entrancesOpens inward/outward like a door
Barrier ArmGated communities, parking lotsFast open/close;
ideal for high-frequency use

 As long as your gate has an electric motor and a dry contact input, we can control it.

To enable license-plate recognition and automated access, GateGuardX hardware kit is required. If you already have an electric gate motor and compatible control board, you don’t need to replace the gate—GateGuardX can typically retrofit your existing installation.

 We assist with setup / support, provide warranty on hardware, etc.

1. Gate Installation Cost Estimates (U.S.)

Below are estimated ranges for electrically powered gate installation in the U.S. (gate + motor + labor + permits):

Gate TypeSingle-Lane Residential Multi-Lane/Commercial
Sliding Gate$1,000 – $5,000+$7,500 – $12,000+
Swing Gate$800 – $8,500$4,000 – $10,000+
Barrier Arm$1,000 – $3,000$5,000 – $12,000

Cost Components:

Installation Labor: $750 – $4,000 depending on complexity.
Permitting: $0 – $300 (electrical/building permits vary by region).
Ongoing Maintenance: Minimal monthly electricity; Typical repair costs vary; many customers see minor maintenance, with major repairs rare.

 Important: GateGuardX does not build or install physical gates or barrier arms. Our focus is on providing the hardware and software that enable your gate to open via license-plate recognition. The gate frame, motor, and barrier (if applicable) must be supplied and installed separately.

 We do organize and install the GateGuardX hardware — cameras, controller, and processing unit — that integrates with your gate and makes it fully automatic.

This covers: the cloud management dashboard, authorized-vehicle list, software updates, optional cloud storage, support, etc.

The amount depends on:
• Number of vehicles (or plates) you register / process per month
• Number of entrances / cameras in your system
• Additional features (e.g. guest approvals, AI/human oversight, etc.)

We don’t list a “one-size-fits-all” price here because different installations have different usage patterns. Contact us for a subscription quote tailored to your needs.
