About

Built, not bundled. One team builds it. One team supports it.

GateGuardX automates vehicle access with license-plate recognition, an integrated hardware kit plus software platform that runs on the gate you already have. Built for industrial and multi-site operations, where reliability and a clean audit trail aren't optional.

Why we exist

Gate access was stuck. So we rebuilt it from the camera up.

Sites were paying $14,000–$18,000 a month for a guard to do what a camera and a clear rule do faster, while remotes get lost, codes get shared, and clipboards never tell you what really happened. And the obvious fix, license-plate recognition, kept failing on real-world plates: dirty, bent, fast, badly lit.

So we fixed the reading first, our system (we call it CLPS) checks each plate across dozens of camera images instead of betting on one snapshot, all handled right at the gate, and used it to retire the guard booth, not the gate. Your gate stays. The booth doesn't.

That was just the start. We're making the gate itself intelligent: a Conversational AI that greets the visitors a list can't, a video record of every crossing so you see exactly what happened, and an entrance that runs itself, more efficient than any staffed gate.

How we build

We solve real problems at the gate, not chase trends.

Top-grade cameras and on-site computers, with the software and online dashboard built in-house. Nothing hidden: you can see exactly why the gate let each vehicle in or kept it out. Operational first, reliable by design, shipped only when it holds up in harsh, imperfect conditions.

One team

Two companies, one team, and one number to call.

GateGuardX started in 2023 as a custom build for one customer, an oilfield logistics operator in Midland, Texas, that needed its guarded gate to run itself. The system ran 24/7 at that working gate, through dust, glare, and truck traffic, for almost three years before we turned it into the product on this site. It was hardened in production first and packaged second.

It's built and operated by one team across two companies, Metered LLC (Washington, DC), which runs and supports it, and Machine Can See d.o.o. (Novi Sad, Serbia), where it's engineered. We're a small, senior team, four to five people today, with around ten engineers having contributed over the product's life. Hardware, computer vision, the platform, and support all live in-house, so the people who build the system are the people who answer when you call. No vendor finger-pointing, just one team that owns the outcome. For US customers, sales, support, and your agreement all run through the US company.

Almost three years of round-the-clock production at working industrial gates, at the one place a site can't afford to fail. That first customer's gate now runs without the 24/7 guard post that costs ~$216,000 a year to staff.
